Actually, one days travelling and almost a day in London so far :) That title just wouldn't fit in the box.
I left my home around 9:40 yesterday morning, and my twenty-hour journey from Atlanta, Georgia, to London, England began. First, I flew into Cleveland, then took the shortest flight in existence over the lakes into Toronto. I was officially out of the United States. Waiting for my plane to London, I realized just how many people are trying to get into London this week--we had people offering thousands of dollars to the flight attendants to put them on board. Thankfully, my seat was safe. This is what the view from my window looked like when we took off
<-----
And this is what it looked like when we were about to land (that's a sunrise, not set) ----->
It was really a beautiful sunrise, but I unfortunately did not have a very good view of it from where I was sitting. I hardly slept at all (I couldn't have if I wanted to) and instead watched
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (GREAT movie!) and
The Last Airbender (which made me want to cry, and not for good reasons). Even though it was long, overall it was an enjoyable flight.
I can't describe how excited I was when I saw ground beneath us. I didn't even get annoyed while I was waiting in line for customs because I was so excited that I was here, in England, for the next six weeks. Once I got through the line (or queue), customs went by quickly and easily, and I was soon at the Heathrow Express to Paddington station. I met up with Megan, one of the girls in my Study Abroad, and we shared a taxi to our flat. The program directors were waiting for us.

From there, I went exploring! I bought my Oyster Card (underground pass) and explored Glocester Road (pronounced 'Gloster') and Kensington High Street, being distracted by super cute and really inexpensive H&M, got some groceries and other necessities, and got a little lost in Hyde Park (but found Neverland!). Overall, I would call it a very successful day!
